Results of Chennai Heat 2009
Chennai Heat ’09 held from 2nd to 4th October at the beautiful Elliots Beach, Beasant Nagar, Chennai was a grand success. This year, the BULA approved tournament saw 10 teams compete in a 7 Vs 7 (co-ed) tournament for the title of Indian Beach Ultimate Champions. Chennai witnessed the highest level of Beach Ultimate competition from participants (natives & expats) across India as they competed to be India's best Beach Ultimate team.
The three days saw top draw, spirited, classic action with fantastic hucks, big bids, huge lay out blocks and a Callahan come to the shores of Chennai, a totally unforgettable experience that only Chennai Heat could have delivered. The event was witnessed by more than 2500 spectators, most of who were witnessing Ultimate for the first time. The teams witnessed incredible crowd support and cheers every time an incredible act of athleticism was performed with the disc. It was heartening to see Chennai warm up to sports other than cricket
Chennai's premiere team Chakraa took home the championship title from the defending champions Learning To Fly from Bangalore.
